Well… actually I think love is in the air. It’s Valentine’s Day next week, right? The day when cherubs flutter in the air. A day when elementary students share candies with everyone in class. A day when you don’t want to go out the night before and wake up next to someone in the morning. A day when that one guy is actually going to propose at a busy restaurant ON Valentine’s Day — don’t do it, bro… not like this.
This glorious day of when one time I was that kid in high school who decided to tell his crush how I felt by slipping a note in her locker next to mine — only to never hear back. Bitch. i love you…
Well. I don’t know about you guys, but unless by some miracle I happen to meet the love of my life within the coming week, I will be single on the 14th. And the only thing I’m going to be wanting that morning is whiskey… and an extra side of bacon.
Extra Side of Bacon
2oz Woodford Reserve Double Oak
.5oz Orange Juice
.5oz Lemon Juice
1oz Cinnamon Simple
2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
1 Sprig of Rosemary
Garnish: Sprig of Rosemary, Strip of Candied Bacon
Glassware: Mason Jar
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a small mason jar. Garnish with that delicious bacon and a sprig of rosemary. Drink it. And enjoy your Valentine’s Day, babe.
